The GovCamp AU Innovation Dialogues events will all feature a panel session with innovation leadership guests, who will share their knowledge about and experience of public sector innovation, and highlight cases from within and outside the sector for innovative delivery of public policy and services.
We are grateful to the generous support in 2015 of a network of partners and collaborators across Australia from within the public sector as well as other supporters.
Public sector innovation always makes me think of one of my favourite sayings: “Show me a completely smooth operation and I’ll show you someone who’s covering mistakes. Real boats rock.”

Just over five years ago I was the web manager at Walsall Council in the West Midlands. I was asked by my friend and colleague Dan Slee if I wanted to attend the first LocalGovCamp: an unconference where like-minded people talk about innovative stuff.
In Australia, GovCamp started in 2011 almost simultaneously in Canberra and then Sydney, followed quickly the following year in Brisbane.
